\nof the first days
\nin weight\u00adless\u00adness:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

when your head feels
some\u00adthing like
a water\u00admel\u00adon with a cold,
and your low\u00ader back feels wrenched
longer than it\u2019s design,
and your stom\u00adach is doing cart\u00adwheels
some\u00adwhere in between.
when every\u00adthing is not
where you have always
known it to be:
no up or down now,
no ceil\u00ading, no floor,
only walls that seem
to crash so eas\u00adi\u00adly
into you.
when you try to move over there
and sud\u00adden\u00adly find your\u00adself careen\u00ading
in the oppo\u00adsite direc\u00adtion\u2026
not to men\u00adtion the aspect of
putting things down,
(drop\u00adping things),
the things you seem
to need most at the moment,
and they quick\u00adly float away and van\u00adish
into air ducts and socks
and the most unex\u00adpect\u00aded places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In con\u00adtrast,
the astro\u00adnauts of many
can\u00adnot wait, it seems, to describe
what it is that replaces
that ini\u00adtial peri\u00adod

For there is a moment they speak of pas\u00adsion\u00adate\u00adly,
a very pure and crys\u00adtalline moment,
when one sud\u00adden\u00adly knows
how things are now, how to move now in micro\u00adgrav\u00adi\u00adty\u2026
they say it doesn\u2019t hap\u00adpen
after cal\u00adcu\u00adlat\u00aded
intel\u00adlec\u00adtu\u00adal rea\u00adson\u00ading, no,

rather sud\u00adden\u00adly, sur\u00adpris\u00ading\u00adly,
